Sissinghurst Seat

Sissinghurst Castle While Sissinghurst Castle resides in the Kentish Countryside and not in The Costwolds, it is of particular note to The Fairy’s Garden because of the larger than life, beloved friend of the sprite world who so grandly restored Sissinghurst and it’s grounds to their current glory, Vita Sackville-West. Sissinghurst Castle was, as castles go, a rather small one with a fairytale tower where Vita’s desk and thinking place still resides. Vita Sackville-West and her husband Harold Nicolson purchased Sissinghurst in a seriously decayed state. It eventually became the joint creation of Harold and Vita, and is now owned by The National Trust. In their honor we have created two beautiful little benches for the fairies to remember them by.
